PSMC is a 501c(3) nonprofit that promotes scientific and educational activities related to fungi and fosters the appreciation of wild and cultivated mushrooms.
What We Do

Forays
We hold mushroom hunts, or forays, around Iowa every year. You do not need to be a member to join scheduled forays. If you would like to request or suggest a foray at a certain location in Iowa, reach out to us at foray@iowamushroom.org! We start planning spring events in fall of the previous year, so make your requests early (and don’t knock summer till you try it)!

Workshops and Seminars
PSMC is often invited to give talks and presentations by other organizations, and we’re interested in doing local workshops. Reach out if you are interested in partnering with us for an event! You can either manage registration and optional fees yourself, or we can do this via our Zeffy account (which is 100% free for nonprofits and charges zero fees).
